Philosophy
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy at The University of Melbourne. Working within the field of Philosophy of Information, for my thesis I am looking at definitions of information and how the concept of information can be applied to traditional philosophical issues in semantics and epistemology. At http://theinformationalturn.net/ you can find a blog that I run which covers my academic research.
I majored in Philosophy as part of the Arts component of my Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree (I also majored in Computer Science). My honours thesis looked at Game-Theoretical Semantics and Independence-Friendly Quantified Modal Logic. More generally, areas of philosophy that I am interested in include Logic, Epistemology, Philosophy of Mind and Philosophy of Science. Lastly, my favourite philosopher is Bertrand Russell.
